Structure of the Degree

The degree programme is composed of eight courses all with an English medium of instruction. Six taught courses are delivered online, permitting participants to interact anachronistically with instructors and each other. The online platform permits rich multi-media support. Additionally, participants complete an intensive multi-day School Improvement Institute that focuses on themes related to intercultural leadership and current issues such as accountability or using data for school improvement. Participants are required to join one School Improvement Institute but may take a second in lieu of one online taught course. Finally, participants completed a capstone School-based Inquiry Project focused on leadership, change implementation or school improvement in the participants’ professional context.

All courses are taught by staff from EPL, APCLC, and cooperating universities. All have international reputations and high levels of expertise in their fields. In order to ensure a grounded focus on problems of practice, experienced international school leaders also contribute to course delivery.

Participants who are interested in pursuing doctoral degree studies on completion of the degree are advised to contact Dr. Ewan Wright (etmwright@eduhk.hk)
