Dr Terrence Quong 

My personal and professional motto is “Engage and extend”. As a school principal I have instilled this in my students, as a professor it is the basis of my course development and research, as a consultant it is the message I share about education and school leadership, as a citizen it is my lived experience.

Over a career of 39 years, Terry has taught at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. He has held principalship positions in both primary and secondary schools, and was a principal in two schools in Australia before taking up a position at Jockey Club Ti-I College in Hong Kong SAR China, where he was the principal for 7 years. In addition to his work in schools, he is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Educational Leadership at the Education University of Hong Kong.


Terry has provided educational consultancy services to various schools and other organizations. As a consultant he has conducted leadership training programs in Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Terry’s interests and consultancy services are in school leadership, strategic planning, evidence based practice in schools, and conflict mediation.

He has published widely in various forums and journals.
