Dr Adam Poole

Dr Adam Poole

Dr Adam Poole is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at EdUHK. He earned his Ed.D. from the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, and brings over a decade of experience as an international school teacher in China before transitioning into academia. His primary research interests encompass international schooling, policy reform, and teacher professional development. Additionally, Adam explores broader themes in international education, including educational mobilities, educational inequality, and social justice. 

His scholarly work has been published in prestigious international journals such International Journal of Educational Research, Educational Reviewand British Journal of Educational Studies. Adam is also the author of two s monographs: Teachers’ Journeys into International School Teaching in China: Exploring Motivations and Mobilities, published by Routledge in 2023, and International School Teachers’ Lived Experiences: Examining Internationalised Schooling in Shanghai, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2021. He serves on the international advisory board for Educational Review and is a member of the International College of Reviewers for Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education.

At EdUHK, Adam teaches a variety of programmes and currently serves as the coordinator for the Teaching and Learning in International Schools course, as well as the Programme Leader for the Executive Master of Arts in International Educational Leadership and Change (IELC).
